welcome to reedybrook BRAHMANS

REEDYBROOK Station is located on the Valley of Lagoons Road, north of Greenvale.

The Burdekin River flows freely through here providing a plentiful water supply, excellent grazing and quality red Brahman cattle.

Commercial cattle production commenced here in 1915 with a herd of Angus Black poll and Hereford cattle. The tick problem inherent to these softer breeds became too costly which, in 1952 lead to the decision to convert the herd to Brahman genetics.

Our first pure bred Brahman bull, Wetherby Aladdin De Manso was purchased in 1963 along with several Wetherby Stud females.

Reedybrook Brahmans became a member of the Australian Brahman Breeders on 12/5/1966, and since this date, we have worked hard to produce high quality marketable Brahmans.

Our cattle are bred on basalt country making them very hardy and able to handle most conditions. We cull heavily on temperament; females with large teats and all animals must be structurally sound.

During the 1970’s through to the 1990’s the Reedybrook name was well know on the Northern show circuit for their excellent stud cattle display. Showing continues these days but we are now limited to prime exhibits only with 2010 marking 50 years of continual exhibition at the Cairns Show.

Reedybrook is now a stud of 250 breeders in conjunction with a commercial herd.

Our current stud sires are

  • Topline Magnum Red Manso
  • Delorae Petro (poll Fenech)
  • Delorae Zander (Fenech)
  • Lancefield A Federor (poll)

Bulls and high grade commercial heifers available for paddock sale.

Visitors are always welcome to inspect our cattle.
